The visible homeless fly signs as a way of making money, but how often have you driven by or walked by a witty sign, an emotional plea or a small quip and been moved—either to laughter, sympathy or surprise? Cardboard & Concrete, one of the many things happening during Create Denver Week, features a collection of signs found in the alleys and dumpsters of Denver and Boulder, alongside moving and detailed photographs by local photographer Scott Russell, who donates his time by taking photos for VOICE editorial. Join us during Second Saturday in Denver’s gritty and artistic RiNo neighborhood. On May 12 & 13 from 7-11pm at Wazee Union.
